HOW IT WORKS

Composed of a patented material designed to mimic food and beverage thermal properties, eCube is one of the most revolutionary inventions to hit the commercial refrigeration industry. A retrofit device easily installed in most refrigeration and freezer units, eCube works on the simple principle of cooling product and not air.

Traditional refrigeration units start their cooling process based on changes in air temperature alone. Each time a fridge or freezer door is opened, cold air is lost from the unit and the air temperature within rises. When this increase in air temperature is sensed by the air temperature probe, it immediately activates the compressor’s cooling cycle. Food and beverage temperatures, however, are much more stable than air temperatures. As a result, a refrigeration unit unnecessarily cycles on and off, while the product temperature has remained unchanged. Attaching an eCube to the existing air temperature probe protects it from these rapidly fluctuating air temperatures, allowing it to respond ONLY to changes in the temperature of the product itself.
